Wendy Sledd is the reigning Mrs. Virginia U S of A, capturing the state title as Mrs. Northern Virginia. Wendy has held several other state titles including Mrs. Kansas, Mrs. Oklahoma, Ms. Louisiana and Ms. Texas in the Achievement system. Wendy has been involved with the March of Dimes for 27 years. Her efforts have raised nearly $1 million for the organization. She is a recipient of the Pageantry Magazine Spirit Award. Wendy has an award-winning career as a journalist interviewing former President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Madeline Albright, Joint Chiefs of Staff General John Shalikashvelli, and Miss America Heather Whitestone. She has appeared on Good Morning, America and the Today Show. Wendy is married to US Army officer Major Keith Sledd. They are the parents of 20 year-old Jennifer, a college sophomore, who is a former Miss Teen Texas Achievement. Wendy is strong in her Christian beliefs and credits God for her opportunities to serve as a role model. Wendy and her family attend Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield.
